90% of all mankind are dead, and are rotting on Old Earth as we speak. We can't dwell on the past however, instead we have to look to the future. Unfortunately the future looks just as bleak. In 2045 the main goal of society is to find a new planet to reside in, as well as to find and extract water if we have to continue waiting for a new home. New Earth is treated as a temporary home, a space colony drifting in space until we find a new land with water and vegetation but every year we sink ino the routine and begin to realize that it just might be our final resting place- or certainly our Metropolis. The problem with this is that we need water, lots of it; especially if we want to create colonies outside of New Earth. To solve this problem we created Tankard crews who transported tanks of water from water planets to New Earth to be distributed as their sponsors/owners see fit. Even in Space man can be twisted and greedy. Out of this greed came a new breed of piracy; the space kind, the galaxy traveling, artillery wielding kind and that's when the future of mankind became a space piracy western, with tanks of water replacing Earth's beloved gold.
