Groups and Crew

TITANSOwned by the Pandora Box corporation. The Titan crew is the oldest and most popular tankard crew. They are well furnished and supplied by Pandora Box and has been the main supplier to New Earth for over a decade and a half. It is well known that a majority of water retrieved is from the Titans however because of this they're often the one's to blaim for the ill treatment of the public in regard to the distribution of water - according to the Pirate crews.

characteristics. professional, big spenders, strict, lots of experience, wealthy, greedy when it comes to distribution of water (a hefty amount is given to Pandora Box, some is kept on board and the rest is then given for New Earth to distribute), effective
relationship with heracles. The Titans mock Heracles and although they appear non-threatened by the Tankard crew, they sabotage them at every turn. They don't take Heracles very seriously, mostly because the Titans are the original Tankards and the Heracles was initially created to replace them. It obviously hasn't worked and the Titans enjoy reminding them.
relationship with prometheus. Prometheus is the eldest pirate crew and with Titans being the eldest Tankard crew there is a lengthy, violent history between the two. They use spies to infiltrate each other's group and attempt to disrupt each other's expeditions. They take Prometheus very seriously because most of the lost cargo is due to conflict with that pirate crew.
relationship with socrates. The Titans know little about Socrates. They aren't very successful with getting information about them and so they aren't successful at stopping many of their attacks. Still, Socrates isn't considered a huge threat by the Titans - at least not yet.

HERACLESOwned by the Mt. Olympus corporation. They were initially started by New Earth in attempts to get water cheaper by extracting by themselves however the project was eventually abandoned. It was later taken over by Mt. Olympus. Throughout the past five years it has become a serious rival to the Titans. Their main problem however is money because they're finding it more and more difficult to fund the trips as well as other endeavors and activities back on New Earth. They were the first to start selling scientists and adventurers opportunities to travel with the Tankard group. Pay for the Tankard crew was slashed in June of 2045 due to less productivity in extraction but ever since the slash the crew has been much more aggressive against the pirates as well as the Titans.

characteristics. takes more risks, more willing to exploit resources due to lack of productivity compared to the Titans, makes more mistakes related to experience, intelligent but still testing out technology and skills, they have an interest in space exploration and science,
relationship with titans. The Titans are like an annoying older brother to the Heracles, or better yet a vicious bully who sabotages their every attempt at advancement. Unless they're itching for a fight, they tend to avoid the Heracles ship in space. They're also not above tipping Prometheus off about the Titan's whereabouts and actions in Space.
relationship with prometheus. The best word would be complex. The Heracles crew tip of Prometheus with news related to the Titans as a backlash to Titans sabotaging them. What do they hope to gain from this? Less competiton from the Titans of course. They would prefer to extract water without Prometheus in close proximity. There's a lot of blackmailing and negotiating between these two.
relationship with socrates. Socrates is an annoying pest to the Heracles. No matter what they do they can't fully shake them off. While the Heracles are more likely to venture into dangerous areas out of desperation the Socrates pirate crew are more than willing to follow. They're built off of risks and the two often end up in non productive stalemates. Battles often go either way as they attempt to outsmart each other.

PROMETHEUS — Prometheus was the fist pirate group formed. It was created in the begining of Titan Tankard's use in the colony. It has been romanticiszed over the years and has even been the subject of books, movies and several folk stories. No one knows what to believe about them. It is common knowledge that they're an efficient dangerous group of pirates that take their job seriously, so seriously that they've grown a notion of suspicion on their own pirates and have been known to Marroon their traitors or supposed traitors on pods anywhere in space or on a planet. Trust is an important factor and they keep things very secret. They have been the sworn enemies of the Titans for over a decade and both sides have resorted to using spies. Their success depends on the other's failure. There are a small group of Prometheus pirates who plan to cause a schism within Prometheus to create a new pirate group; the reason is an unusual one - it's because they seek more liberty in space. Prometheus has been so caught up with efficiency and tracking the tankards down and battling them, that some pirates feel they've completely lost the notion of fun and adventure that was hyped about in the very beginning.

characteristics. Popular, overestimated, efficient and productive but they have become less adventurous throughout the years, wealthy but they use up their money fast and have to resort to hijacking large shipments in order to make up for it
relationship with titans. The Prometheus and Titans are huge rivals, they hate each other intensely and it's their individual goals to destroy the other crew if possible. They have had the most conflict, the most battles, and most civilians think that if it weren't for these two Space wouldn't appear so dangerous. They sabotage each other and use spies to corrupt the other's crew.
relationship with heracles. Prometheus obtains information from the Heracles in relation to the Titans in exchange for not being bothered as much. Still, they do remind them who they think the king of the frontier is and engage in fights and steal tanks away. In general their conflicts are less violent than the ones between the Prometheus and Titans but it's still a very strained relationship.
relationship with socrates. Socrates and Prometheus do not interfere with each other's expeditions. Or at least they try not to. Socrates are fed up with having to be in the shadows of Prometheus and recently they've been stepping on each other's toes.

SOCRATES — This pirate group started up in Ananke when a community of farmers decided it would be cheaper to go out and extract their own water. For a couple years they failed and had to use trial and error to finally see success and rather than create a new Tankard group they resorted to Piracy. The people of Ananke take no responsibility for Socrates however they supply them as well as Prometheus, and in return they do recieve a portion of the stolen water tanks. Socrates constantly advertises in the colony and does not have the instanteous popularity that Prometheus had. While the two pirate groups basically compete they maintain a peaceful agreement that they would never interfere with each other's projects or battles. It's been a rocky agreement and the Socrates Pirates are split over whether to uphold it or not since Prometheus steals much more of the product than they do. The Socrates pirates are more willing to go to dangerous areas than any other space travel organization and because of this they give outsiders the service of riding with them for a fee of course.

characteristics. adventurous, risky, interested in exploration and conquest, more likely to resort to cheap antics for money, liberal, relaxed
relationship with titans. They tend to attack the Titans when they have small shipments. They aren't as ambitious as the Prometheus but they're efficient at small tasks. Being fairly new, they make the mistake of overestimating the Titans in inopportune moments.
relationship with heracles. Heracles and Socrates both contain very smart, witty individuals and because of this their interaction is much like a Chess game and they often end up stalemate most of the times, if not the battle will often go either way - sometimes due to pure luck. They are unable to overwhelm the other. Heracles and Socrates consider each other worthy but incredibly annoying - adversaries.
relationship with prometheus. They have a peace treaty of sorts. They aren't supposed to interfere with each other's plans but recently Socrates has grown tired of Prometheus gaining all the spotlight and spoils. They are invading each other's space more and more and people believe a conflict is emminent.
